Geo-engineering and Surreal Designs at the Scale of the Climate Crisis
Eco-systemic designer, eco-futurist, and artist Lily Consuelo Saporta Tagiuri takes us on a journey through surreal designs for our impending climate crisis. We start with a game of geo-engineering trivia, where the line between science fiction and reality is less than obvious. She asks: "is this fiction or is some mad scientist actually doing this?" and the topics span bringing back wolly mamouths, seeding the stratosphere with chemicals, or turning carbon into stone.
We discuss what geoengineering means (and have other species terraformed more than we have?) and chat about Lily's incredible body of work pushing back against techno-utopian narratives with beautiful eco-interventions and joy.
